The Cherry Bark Tea Tray has been crafted in Kakunodate which is renowned for its samurai houses and rows of cherry trees, which is why it is also known as Little Tokyo. It is where the crafting of the wild cherry bark wood or Kabazaiku has flourished for over 230 years. Kaba means the bark of the Yamazakura Tree which makes the work completely unique, and Zaiku means craftsmanship. This unique and traditional Japanese craft provides a stunning range of products which have a rich deep colour, glossiness, smoothness, strength and moisture/dry proof character.
