Inspired by the Samurai warriors of the Edo period (1603-1868), Edonishiki Iki Japanese Incense Sticks have a gentle, masculine scent. The refreshing blend has notes of spicy cinnamon and calming vanilla for the perfect balance of sweet and sour. The incense sticks are handcrafted from Japanese Binch -tan charcoal to create less smoke when burning – ideal for use during meditation or moments of downtime.
Nippon Kodo was founded in 1575 to produce incense for the Emperor of Japan, and still crafts their Japanese incense using a combination of ancient and modern techniques. The incense is packaged in a grey and white Edo Kumon design – a traditional yet minimal repetitive pattern which cannot be seen from a distance. It was popular with the Samurai, who associated the design with the qualities of confidence and strength.
